Shenandoah Acres was initially founded by Rupert and Helen Blacka in the 1930s. The campground was originally known as America's Finest Inland Beach. Blacka's family operated a small eatery and small spring-fed lakes in addition to the campground. You could also take a trail ride on horseback or play miniature golf at the campground. It was considered a health resort, with fresh spring water.
It was closed in the early 2000s, but reopened in 2014. Good Faith LLC purchased the campsite in 2005. Since 2005, Shenandoah Acres' owners have worked to reopen this campground. In 2010, the campground changed to Mountain Spring RV Resort. It is owned and operated by Sun Communities, Inc. It is one among the company's over 430 resorts that it operates in 32 US states. The campground features a swimming pool, playground, and cafe. The campground is pet-friendly, but there are rules.
Over the years, the campground has been managed by several different owners. The Blacka family, originally the owner, relocated to Canada to manage the property. Lockland Management purchased it. After many years, Sun Communities, Inc. purchased the campground. In 2020, it was purchased for $3,000,000 by SA Hold Co., LLC. The new owners plan to renovate the property, but will not give specific details on what improvements will be made.
Shenandoah Crossing is a full-service campground that offers 41 campsites for both full and partial hookups. It is big rig friendly, with plenty of space for slides and pull-thru RVs.
