Lake Raystown Family Camping Resort is located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. This 100-acre campground accommodates tent, RV, or cabin guests. It boasts a catch and released pond, free WiFi, 60 acres worth of walking trails, and free WiFi. There is also a marina and a golf course at the resort. This is a great spot to take your pet along on vacation.

There are two public beaches on the lake. One of the best spots for a beach is located in the Seven Points area. You can rent a houseboat, or hire a boatman to take out the fisherman. You will find many museums with local history on the lake. Hesston Speedway, for those with a passion for racing, is a good choice.

There are several attractions nearby, including the Allegrippis Trails, Trough Creek State Park, and Whipple Dam State Park. All these are located within a short distance of the campground. Actually, the Allegrippis Trails form part of Raystown Mountain Bike skills Park. While the park itself is a little on the small side, it does offer some of the best mountain bike trails in the state. You can also visit the nearby Six Points ski area and Mount Hermon ski area.

The campsites on the lake are first-class and close to the water. There are 250 campsites on over 100 acres of land. Each includes the requisite amenities, including a fire ring, electric, and water. They are also located close to the aforementioned Allegrippis, which is the hiking- and biking trails.

A luxury RV or a fully serviced cabin are not available at the resort. However, you can expect to get a nice room for the money. Raystown Lake Family Camp Resort also offers a variety of perks such as a catch and released pond, marina, swimming pool, and pet-friendly rooms. It is also surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it a beautiful drive.

It is also surrounded on all sides by 21,000 acres of land that is public, most of which is part of the Army Corps of Engineers. The best of both the worlds is apparent when you consider the fact that the majority of the area is not open to residential development. That said, a few homes have been built in the past, and one sadly slipped down a hill without warning. Cool fact: The resort also has a dog park. You must keep your pet on a minimum of six feet from your vehicle.

The Raystown Lake Family Camping Resort has its fair share of gimmicks, but the best is that it's a fun place to stay. While there are some things you should consider when deciding between this resort and other nearby tweeps, it is worth a visit as it is the only one in the area.
